Weekly Update #23 - The End of Summer(?) Update

This is one of those weeks where I’m sitting here struggling to think of interesting things to discuss and announce. Looking out of the window it’s pretty dreary and the weather app seems to suggest it’s the end of Summer. Anyway, this isn’t a weekly update about the weather so let’s try writing a stream of conciousness and see where we end up….

A couple of weeks ago we had a mini-panic as the cask ale flew out at a much quicker pace than anticipated and last week saw an equally busy stream of beer flow, except this time we were prepared and at no point did we go below having 2 casks on. Ideally we’ll never go below 3 casks on at a time, but as cask ale has a pretty short life, it’s risky business sticking on a new beer on a Sunday knowing we’ll be losing two days of freshness during the Monday-Tuesday we’re closed.

Last week, we had the biggest restock of cans and bottles yet. There’s something very pleasing about seeing once empty shelves become chock-full of delicious and wonderous beverages. As we’re now a month into being open, I like to think we’re getting a better understanding of our beer style ratios.

Talking of beers, this week we’ve got some new cans dropping including a re-stock of the incredibly popular Oregon Trail from Elusive Brew, an absolutely banging West Coast IPA - and a new beer in from Pressure Drop that’s NOT a Pale or IPA (intriguing I know…)

Oh and for all of you that were wondering, we won’t be open on Bank Holiday Monday, we’ll be having a well deserved break. We will be open on the Sunday though until 6pm and all our drinks have a takeaway discount available so don’t forget to swing by and stock up!

Finally, a quick reminder that for those interested in what we have on tap - you can find out on our live beer board powered by the Real Ale Finder App:
