Weekly Update #3 - A Quick One - 7th December 2019
Hi all, hope everyone’s had a good week. This week’s update will be a relatively short one.
After writing last week about staring at walls, this week one of the walls has been taken down. A partition has been opened up to make way for where the bar will be. This is the first major change made as the premises transitions from an empty shop to a building site to its final state as a fully fledged micropub and even though it’s very messy right now it’s exciting to see it coming together. As well as this, shelving units have been cleared out, boards that were stuck to walls have come down and the old shop sign has now removed.
Speaking of the shop sign, the new one arrived yesterday. Before it’s put up though, we need to paint the backboard the new green we’ll be using for the interior. Because the shopfront (including window frames, door etc.) is a different shade of green these will need to be painted black as not to clash.
We’ve also been figuring out the lighting layout for the bar floor and have a close to final idea for the light fittings we will use. At the moment we still have the flourescent lights up on the ceiling along with the old frame for the panelling, all of which will have to come down when we install the sound proofing.
Earlier this week the sound proofing document was sent off to the council, so hopefully I’ll be hearing back from them with approval in the next week or two. Then things will really start ramping up!
Cheers,
Rob
