Weekly Update #16 - Bar Paint Job - Done!

So this has been an interesting week. I’m debating whether to go through my thoughts and concerns about the impact the current national health situation might have on things and how we’ll deal with it, but with developments occurring every day it would be pointless. Our plan, at the moment, is to continue with the building work as intended and when we get to the stage where we are ready to open, assess what the situation is then.

As for actual updates on our progress, last week I shared some photos of how things have been developing with the toilet and this week things have continued to move along well. The toilet and plumbing are in place and operational, with the sink to follow shortly. Then all that’s left are the final touches with wallpaper, lighting and your standard toilet items.

The bar floor area is progressing well. Painting was finished yesterday and the colour scheme is looking great! With the paint finished and dry, we can get the light fittings in place and shelving up. Talking of which, we’ve been trying out different wood stains for the shelving and have settled on a dark colour that we’ll also be using on the bar top.

With the opening date (yet to be announced) hopefully nearing, I’ve started to have a proper think about merchandise with totes, t-shirts, hoodies etc. and am working with an incredible illustrator to translate our artwork into something easily printable - watch this space!

Cheers,

Rob
