Weekly Update #10 - Mostly Building Work Stuff

This week has seen some significant steps with building work and things will continue to ramp up over the coming period.

Earlier this week the cooling unit was installed (as you may have seen on social media posts) which will ensure we have the perfect cellar temperature for the beers we will be serving when we open, but more details on that another time!

This is one of the first big pieces of the micropub puzzle required for us to get up and running. Following this, we now need to get all the electrics checked and wired and lighting fixtures re-organised and put in place. Next comes the soundproofing and ceiling which can then be installed. As you can tell, still lots to do.

Also this week, interior window frames and fittings have been degreased and a base prime coat applied ready for the final paint job. I also spent a good while scraping off most of the old window decals from the premises’ previous iteration as a sports nutrition shop.

Wood panelling along the the bar area is now going up too. This is something I’ve wanted since I began thinking about the interior design, and seeing it coming together really helps cement the notion that the space is becoming a micropub. There is something weirdly satisfying about seeing pieces of timber slot together, a bit like an adult version of lego I guess…

I’ll leave it there for this update. Let’s see what the next week brings!

Cheers,

Rob
