Weekly Update #18 - Alternate Timeline

Hi everyone,

Going to keep this week’s update relatively short as everything remains on hold. There’s still a few things to mention though, so let’s get going:

I keep thinking about an alternate timeline where the current pandemic doesn’t occur. At the start of this month (March) I had pencilled in this weekend (starting Friday 27th March) for the opening. Of course the weather has been exceptionally good for the last few days and I’d like to think we’d be dealing with the problem of being TOO busy. Whenever we do open, I know people will be desperate to get to the pub, so here’s hoping we’ll be able to make up for lost time.

In the interim, I’m still thinking about doing some sort of take-away and/or delivery service and weighing up whether it may be better just to hold off on doing anything until we can open fully.

This brings me on to something I already mentioned in the last update and loads of people are already doing - but it’s always good to re-iterate: support your local businesses! Highams Park has some great local shops that are offering delivery or collections of goods so try to utilise if you’re able to.

VINORAMICA are currently delivering mixed cases of wines and beers to local residents and I received my order this morning. Check out their website for more information

HALEX E4 have repositioned themselves from a wine bar to a grocery provider where you can order online and collect. I picked up my order yesterday and they have a great selection of high quality vegetables, fruit and pantry items (and of course alcoholic drinks!).

Finally, I received an order of Tote bags this week. I’m still working out when and how to make these available to buy but I’m really happy with how they look:
